MANY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE WILL DIE, BASED ON A LACK OF SHELTER
A HALF-DAY PROJECT
The incredibly low life-cycle cost of Shelter In A Day could be micro-financed as a furnished turn-key home, for the daily price of a sandwich! 'Shelter In A Day' is a proof-of-concept building that can be packaged with Terrapeg furniture, another of Frank's innovations, also constructed entirely of MDF. These products are easy to ship, fast to assemble, and easy to expand to meet changing needs. Building lengths are easily extended in 4 foot increments to construct homes, schools, clinics, libraries, offices and churches. These buildings can be assembled & reassembled many times.
Multidimensional Fiberboard (MDF)
More than 150 facilities now produce MDF worldwide. Scrap lumber from our lumberyards makes MDF a sustainable product, potentially helping us greatly in our battle against global warming! The future of MDF is very bright since we are using resources much faster that Nature can replace them! So, be assured that Frank's Shelter In A Day is here to stay!
Cost of an Installed Shelter
Shelter In A Day is semi-permanent secure construction. Initially it costs slightly more than a short-term tent; however, long term it is many times less expensive than a tent. Shelters ship flat on a pallet and are easily assembled or disassembled in half-a-day, without any construction skills, tools, nor power.
Factory in a Box
To eliminate shipping, 'Factory in a Box' will include all the machines and tooling (including a generator) required to manufacturing Shelter In A Day from MDF board, within a standard shipping container. It can be quickly shipped to any location to meet the needs of a developing disaster or relief situation. Additional containers, filled with MDF from any of 150 existing factories, will enable a quick start to production.
Award Winning Designs
Frank’s designs have won multiple awards including Peoples’ Choice at Inventors Fairs (Lauderdale & Bradenton FL), and ‘Most Innovative Product’, in a landslide vote at the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Forum in Washington D.C.
